Campaign hosts successful industry briefing

Yesterday, the CyberUp Campaign hosted a virtual briefing event to update industry partners and professionals from within the sector on the progress of the campaign to update the Computer Misuse Act (1990).

Our parliamentary activity over the course of the last year has brought not insignificant successes, including securing amendments to the Criminal Justice Bill to include an update to the Computer Misuse Act from the then Labour shadow front bench and positive engagement with civil servants involved in the issue.

We are very grateful to everyone who attended our event, especially those who contributed and provided insightful feedback on the grassroots perspective on the CMA and our campaign to update it. It was excellent to hear from representatives of UKC3 cyber clusters, who play such an important role in connecting cyber professionals throughout the country.

We look forward to continued productive engagement with the cyber security sector to energise the campaign given the exciting opportunity presented by working with a new Government.
