CyberUp Campaign hosts well attended expert-led drop-in event in Parliament

Yesterday, the CyberUp Campaign hosted an expert-led drop-in event in Parliament. Our event focused on briefing parliamentarians on why updating the outdated Computer Misuse Act must be a priority for the new Government and why these much-needed updates to our cybersecurity laws will enhance sector growth and better equip the UK to tackle 21st century cybersecurity challenges impacting all areas of society.

We were delighted to be joined by representatives including Katharina Sommer, Group Head of Government Affairs and Analyst Relations at NCC Group, Matt Hull, Head of Cyber Threat Intelligence at NCC Group, Seena Williams, Comms, Research and Thought Leadership at NCC Group, Sophia McCall, Strategic Threat Intelligence Lead at NCC Group, Professor John Child, Professor of Criminal Law at the University of Birmingham and the Co-founder of the Criminal Reform Now Network, and William Black, Policy and Public Affairs at the BT Group.

Many thanks to everyone who attended our event. We were grateful to meet with a range of parliamentarians from different parties who expressed their interest in and support for our calls to update the outdated Computer Misuse Act. We look forward to continuing our engagement.
